80’s Music Fans Exposed

I used to drink a lot. Whenever my friends and I were drinking and a rockin’ 80’s song would play, everyone in the party inevitable began to move:

  • Heads would bob.
  • Lips moved to the lyrics.
  • Feet tapped.
  • Smile muscles were exercised.
  • Sneaky comments were made: “Oooh, I love this song…haha” (jokingly said but seriously meant).

It was then that I realized an important life fact: most people are undercover 80’s music fans but are too proud to admit it. Under the influence of the “truth serum,” their true feelings for the decade of glam, guitar solos, and hair will surface.

Soon after, I came out of the 80’s closet. I suggest you do the same.

It’s liberating.

The music rocks, stop denying it.

Accept it.

Live it.

Love it.

Cuz you know you need it.

And then you’ll be able to openly enjoy your love of a great decade of jams.

:-)

One of the best moments of our wedding reception was Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’”. Hold on to that feelin’, baby…
